The forest was a cathedral once. Now it is ash. Niko was small even before the fire took everything: his nest, his stores, the only home he knew. He survives the burning world alone, only to find a fragile haven called the Grove, ruled by an elder who believes the old laws will save them. But the wolves are already at the border, and they are patient. They are counting on fear to do what teeth have not yet finished. Niko did not ask to lead. He asked only to live.
